A domestic garage had been built partially on the site of a backfilled quarry. Settlement of the quarry fill had caused the structure to subside and tilt. Insurers required the garage to be taken down and re-built on piled foundations. Our works involved:
- Detailed design.
- Demolition: Installation of 34 273mm sacrificial cased piles socketed into rock, ranging from 5 to 9 metres in depth. 165mm CHS reinforcement and RC ring beam.
- Pressure grouting to stabilise drainage systems.
- Construction of a new garage and resurface to the driveway.
